This traditional tour takes you on a three hour traditional Korean alcohol tasting immersion where you will visit three different makgeolli restaurants, each with their own unique style. You will be in good company with expert guides trained by The Sool Company.
A Traditional Tour
We begin with a place famous for its wide range of makgeolli sourced from around the country, set in a traditional hanok (a Korean traditional house).
After sampling a few bottles of what can be found on the market paired with some quintessential Korean pancakes, we head to a secret location unfamiliar even to locals. Here we sample some handcrafted makgeolli, straight from the hands of the brewer herself. Once we have had our fill of her delicious brew and some home-cooked dishes, we walk on to our final destination. We pull up stools at a dimly lit tavern with tin kettles filled with makgeolli and experience the revelry of tavern-style drinking.
What makes this tour different than any other is our guides. We are dedicated Korean traditional alcohol company with over 10 years of experience in the industry, and we are passionate about opening travelers' eyes to the world of quality makgeolli! Learn about the history, science, and all the ins and outs of not just sool, but all things Korea!
For this tour, we meet at 6pm at Anguk Station (Orange Line 3) Exit 6.
